Sunday listening: Previewing Colors in the Dark from Monochromie

French composer Wilson Trouve will be releasing his new LP “Colors in the Dark” very soon under his musical nom de plume, Monochromie. The new album will be produced in two limited edition versions, a special handcrafted package including 4 prints derived from vintage wallpaper (100 copies) and a standard 4-panel digipack (200 copies).  Whereas Monochromie’s last effort, “Enlighten Yourself While You Sleep” featured heavy electronic sounds and hints of post rock, the new record features piano-based compositions that evoke nostalgia and melancholy. The art concept is lovely as are the preview tracks that have been released so far.

Featured here for some ideal Sunday morning listening are ‘Whales’ from the forthcoming album and an unreleased sketch called ‘Music for a poppy field’.
